BITTERSWEET...

We are selling our home of 24 years...many mixed emotions.  Incredible memories of times with our sons and their friends, church friends, and family.  Times of being the neighborhood Mom, as all the kids gathered in our kitchen to wait for the school bus...or just came in to help themselves to our candy basket.  Times of the many boys who gathered in our driveway to shoot hoops.  Times of opening up our home to others in their time of need.  Times of our house being a safe retreat for me when Steven was deployed and I felt comfortable every night alone, in my corner of the couch with my Bible nearby.  Times of celebrations as we marked graduations and weddings.  Times of transition (and tears) as each son left home and their rooms took on a different look.  Times of empty-nesting when Steven and I first experienced life as it was when we first began our journey together.  So many memories, as we turn 10738 Golden Spike Lane over to new owners.  My prayer is that they too will build such sweet memories.

GATEWAY HAPPENINGS

Our Youth Pastor challenged our Youth to invite their friends to visit and told them if they would reach 80 in attendance in 5 weeks, he would shave his head.  They hit 92 in 3 weeks!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL!!!

We had a week full of fun & games and great Bible teaching!  The kids had a blast (as did the teachers) and we had a contest between the girls & boys to see who could collect more money for our mission offerings.  The "loser" would get pied on Sunday AM during our commencement...the good news is that the GIRLS won!!  So Suzette was able to escape the pie and "presented" it to Steven.  The really great news is we collected over $1,600.00 for the Florida Baptist Children's Home!

THE HOLY LAND

One of the groups at church made a trip to the Holy Land Experience in Orlando and invited us to tag along.  A fun day of great fellowship!

HARLEY TIME

Went with the CMA (Christian Motorcycle Association) on a ride to eat some good BarBQ!  The sign was posted near the restroom...male humor, for sure!
