BELATED BIRTHDAY WEEKEND

We had a great weekend with Brandon, April, Taylor, Addyson & Kynley a couple of weeks ago.  We drove to DC to spend some time with them in their new home there and to celebrate Taylor's (belated) birthday party with her new girl friends.  We were also privileged to get a tour of the Pentagon by Brandon.  It is amazing how much pride I feel when I am around anything military related.  The area where Brandon's new office is was the same area the plane hit on 9-11.  There were several memorials for those who went to work that morning...and never returned home.  Still makes my heart hurt thinking of the senseless tragedy that changed our American way of life forever.

Glimpses Of The Pentagon: Many of the areas were encased in glass, so it made photos difficult.  But, the enormity of the building and the prestige of all that is housed in it is engraved in my memory!  Thanks Brandon!  It was incredible.

Taylor's party was at a ceramic shop where the girls were treated to the fun of selecting a pottery piece and painting it and then it will be fired and will be a memory of Taylor's special day that the girls take home with them.  The ice cream cake was "icing on the cake"!!  Fun stuff!
