Steven rode the Harley all the way to Columbus, Ohio to attend the Southern Baptist Convention!  His adventuresome spirit has not diminished with his age!

SPA DAY!

I mentioned on my birthday post, that my sweet family gave me an incredible gift of a spa package...with my very best friend, Ellen!   We finally were able to schedule our fun day this past Saturday and what an adventure we had.  The spa was located at the beach, in a resort called One Ocean.   We were treated like princesses from the moment the valet took our car.  We were lead to the spa area where we traded our jeans for a soft robe & slippers, then on to the relation room to wait for our appointment time.  There was a table full of good food to eat & drink, a beautiful room of plushy recliners that faced the private pool and the Atlantic Ocean and a beach full of people enjoying the sunny day.  We chatted and enjoyed the view until we were ushered to our first appointment, an "ocean mist facial".  Totally relaxing...and an hour long!   After that we were returned to the relaxation room, where we agreed that we were feeling very, very special and very thankful to my sweet kids for such a treat!   We were shortly lead to another beautiful room where we were pampered to a manicure & pedicure, also each an hour long!  Three hours of being shamefully spoiled!   It was an incredible treat with my sweet sister...and will be long remembered.   Thank you, Erica (Clayton), April (Brandon) & Jill (Adam) for once again leaving me speechless!  

COUSIN TIME :-)

Adam, Jill & crew have moved back to Jax!   So, that will allow "cousin time" to be easier and more often!  Now, if we can just convince the Army to send Brandon & April here...that would be perfect!!!  

DOWNTOWN FRIDAYS

The first Friday of every month (during the summer) our little town has a festival called "Downtown Fridays".   A section of the downtown is roped off and there are booths set-up for food, games, and fundraising opportunities.  At one end of the town there is a gigantic inflatable screen, which shows movies after dark.  Another section has a bandstand where different bands play.  The local police and fire departments are there and the fire trucks are used for water entertainment for the kids.  There are inflatables and military vehicles to explore.  Lots of laughter and Live Oak folks having fun!

"THIS IS NOT MY FIRST RODEO"

That above quote has become popular in referring to something that a person has done (and aced before).   Well, last Saturday night Steven & I had the fun experience of experiencing our very first rodeo!!  We attended a rodeo in Live Oak with some of our church members...in fact, one of our youth was in the rodeo, competing in two categories.  Addison rode (on horse back)  in the barrels and the "quick release"  (roping a calf while on the back of her horse)!!

The ironic thing about this was that when we took our RV trip out West, we looked for  Rodeo, and could never find one to attend!  We were in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada...and there was no rodeo to find!  But we come to Live Oak, Florida and there seems to be many opportunities in the surrounding counties!  Who knew??
