LADY OF FAITH

A couple weeks of weeks ago, Steven and I had the opportunity to visit a National Monument that is rarely talked about in Visitors Centers.  She is called "The Lady Of Faith" and is located in Plymouth, MA.  Kirk Cameron gives a full guided tour of her in his movie, "Monumental".

It is an amazing tribute of our forefathers that was constructed in 1859 and is the largest solid-granite statue in the United States!  The entire structure stands 81 feet high and the top figure, "Faith" is 36 feet high and she weighs 180 tons alone.  She holds a Bible in her hand and her raised finger points to the heavens.  She stands upon an eight-sided column that houses four granite figures (each 15 feet high) that stand for: Morality, Education, Liberty, Law.  This great country was founded on God-centered principles...sadly much of that is forgotten today.

A WHOLE LOT OF JESUS!

My daughter-in-law, Jill, gave me this adorable necklace, which shows she know her "Mum-in-Law" very well!   It says:
"All I need is a little bit of coffee, and a whole lot of Jesus"

Made me think how true the message is for us Christ-folllowers...no matter what delights our heart, or gives us earthly pleasure and comfort...it all pales in comparison to our Jesus!   We can live without a lot of the items that spoil us on a daily basis, but the thought of going one day...one hour...one minute...one second without our Jesus is inconceivable!  We need Him for every moment we breathe to: love us, comfort us, encourage us, renew us, strengthen us, recreate us, mold us, instill in us, fashion us, hold us, embolden us, restore us and remind us of His saving Amazing Grace!

I do so love coffee...but He is my cup of Life!  Thank You, Jesus, for choosing me!

MY BFF !!!

                                                 MY OCTOBER TREAT!

What a treat for me to have Ellen visit for a few days in October!  We packed a lot into a very short five days!  When she arrived on Wednesday, we drove her to Vermont and New Hampshire to view the changing leaves and the mountains, both sights never seen in Florida!  Because she flew in to Bradley International Airport in Connecticut and then we took her to Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts...she was in four states in one day!  :-)

On Thursday we toured the Smith & Wesson Plant to be amazed at how a cylinder of metal becomes a gun!  Thanks to Barbara, Gerry & Elaine for arranging that.  She and her husband, Lee both own guns and visit the range often, so it was fun to watch and hear her excitement as we visited each section of this incredible plant.  Then Barbara, Ellen & I headed off for a super lunch at Atkins Farmer's Market (another sight not frequently seen in FL) and then onto the flagship Yankee Candle Store.  It is an amazing place to visit...affectionally known as the "Mothership".  That night we fellowshipped at our Family Night at church and she became familiar with many of the people I have told her about for the past year.

On Friday we headed out to Barbara's warm home and enjoyed her incredible hospitality then on to Sturbridge to eat at a great little cafe called "Soup To Nuts"...great food with mega atmosphere.  So cute.  We hit every Primitive Country Shop we could find and enjoyed the quaint little towns along the way.  That evening we were joined by the Hand's & Lavallee's at The Steaming Tender (old train depot) for a wonderful meal...again packed in a unique atmosphere.  Such fun!

Saturday we enjoyed the incredible views at the lake house (homestead to Barbara's parents) and spent some quality "sister time" with 26 ladies of CIA, as I led a one day ladies retreat from 10 until 4PM.  Fun, food and fellowship at it's best!  We finished up our full day at a local steak house and retired very FULL...physically and spiritually!

Sunday was our normal full worship day with two services.  I am so glad that she was able to enjoy the ladies that have won my heart in MA.  She headed back to Jax early Monday AM and I hated to see her go...but will hold tight to the memories we enjoyed while she was here!!    Thankful!!!

Blessed By Her!
