Another road trip as we headed up to Springfield, MA to attend the memorial service of our good friend, Michelle (featured on an earlier post). Her service was packed by 400 people who attested to the incredible Christian life she led and the wonderful legacy she left behind. We were blessed to have known and loved her! So thankful.
We then went to Va Beach and spent a week with Mama & Daddy. We were able to be there for Mama's cataract surgery and recovery (Dad had already had his eyes done). We caught up on all the events of their retirements...both Mama & Daddy just retired from the Va Beach School Board. Mama had driven a school bus for 45 years and Daddy was on a handicapped school bus (assisting the children on & off ) for 25 years!! Retirement (finally) at ages 85 & 81!!! Incredible that they were able to work so long...inspired by their commitment to hard work.
We also were able to celebrate their 64th Wedding Anniversary with them with and spent time with my two brothers, Chuck & Brian (missed Ellen not being with us), my two nieces Lauren & Sheri, and my two (extended) grandchildren...Ben & Jaz! A good week of enjoying time spent with my parents...thankful that they are still with us and that they have been blessed with great health!
